ABOUT 

The Department of Defense, through U.S. Northern Command, and in support of the Department of Homeland Security, is providing transportation, temporary housing, medical screening, and general support for at least 50,000 Afghan evacuees at suitable facilities, in permanent or temporary structures, as quickly as possible. This initiative provides Afghan personnel essential support at secure locations outside Afghanistan

U.S. Marines with Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 23d Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, get accountability of issued rifles on the last day of their activation period for the unit deployment program at Camp Williams, Utah, Nov. 3, 2024. The activation marks the beginning of an intensive period of training for 2nd Battalion, 23d Marines as they provide a total force solution in support of the UDP by aligning Marine Forces Reserve’s commitment to Marine Corps strategic objectives.
