ABOUT 

Gunslinger is a large military exercise conducted by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s 4th Marine Aircraft Wing, and the Kansas Air National Guard’s 134th Air Control Squadron of McConnell Air Force Base. More than 1,300 Marines from 11 home training centers across the country have deployed to multiple areas throughout Kansas to participate in Gunslinger 22.

A reserve Marine volunteer firefighter was selected to receive a 2013 Geico Military Service Award. The Geico Military Service Awards Program spotlights the contributions enlisted members of the Armed Forces make in improving public safety. The awards honor one enlisted member from each military service branch and one member from the Reserve/National Guard component.
