ABOUT 

Gunslinger is a large military exercise conducted by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s 4th Marine Aircraft Wing, and the Kansas Air National Guard’s 134th Air Control Squadron of McConnell Air Force Base. More than 1,300 Marines from 11 home training centers across the country have deployed to multiple areas throughout Kansas to participate in Gunslinger 22.

Reserve Marines conduct 4th Amphibious Assault Vehicle Launch
2nd Lt. Ryan Schab, platoon commander with Company D, 4th Assault Amphibian Battalion, 4th Marine Division, mans the turret of an AAV after conducting ship-to-shore operations with Reserve Marines of 4th AAV Bn. at Blount Island, Jacksonville, Fla., Aug. 13, 2014. The training focused on amphibious training and the ability to splash off ship and drive to shore. The Reserve Marines also focused on interoperability with the Navy, using their Maritime Prepositioning Ship to launch the AAVs.
