Mountain Warfare Training Exercise (MTX) 2022 sees 1st Battalion, 24th Marines (Reinforced) conducting Mountain Exercise 4-22 aboard Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center Bridgeport, Calif., in order to sustain individual warfighting proficiency and improve, sustain, and evaluate company-level offensive and defensive tasks as well as battalion-level planning and command and control.

Marines with 1st Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, form a line after exiting the back of an assault amphibious vehicle during an assault on a simulated enemy town Aug. 17, 2014, aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., during exercise Heavy Metal 14. Throughout the exercise, infantry units trained alongside AAVs to become familiar with its movements and capabilities.
