Lt. Gen. Rex C. McMillian, commander of Marine Forces Reserve and Marine Forces North, poses for a photo with volunteers with Krewe of Zulu during their Toys for Tots toys distribution event at the New Orleans city hall, Dec. 16,2017. The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program’s mission is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children. The program’s goal for the 2017 Christmas season is to provide toys to seven million less-fortunate children. This is the 70th anniversary season of Toys for Tots. Since its inception in 1947, the nationwide Marine Corps Reserve sponsored program has collected and distributed more than 570 million toys. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt. Ian Ferro)
