ABOUT 

Mountain Warfare Training Exercise (MTX) 2022 sees 1st Battalion, 24th Marines (Reinforced) conducting Mountain Exercise 4-22 aboard Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center Bridgeport, Calif., in order to sustain individual warfighting  proficiency and improve, sustain, and evaluate company-level offensive and defensive tasks as well as battalion-level planning and command and control.

Marine Corps Sgt. Jeffery Hale, a launcher chief with Kilo Battery, 2nd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment, reattaches a M240 Machine Gun onto a M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) after having been off loaded from an Air Force MC-130 at Fort Campbell, Ky., March 29, 2018. Marines from Kilo Battery flew from Fort Campbell, to Dugway Proving Grounds, Utah, where they offloaded and fired four HIMARS missiles, demonstrating a unique capability that will give commanders more options to deal with threats when other options are not appropriate.
