ABOUT 

Mountain Warfare Training Exercise (MTX) 2022 sees 1st Battalion, 24th Marines (Reinforced) conducting Mountain Exercise 4-22 aboard Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center Bridgeport, Calif., in order to sustain individual warfighting  proficiency and improve, sustain, and evaluate company-level offensive and defensive tasks as well as battalion-level planning and command and control.

Lt. Gen. David G. Bellon, commander of Marine Forces Reserve and Marine Forces North, shakes hands with Cpl. Bellon presented challenge coins to two Marines for their hard work preparing for the mobilization of the task force. During Lt. Gen. Bellon’s visit, he also shared professional guidance and mentorship with the SPMAGTF-SC 20 Marines and Sailors from his experience working in Southern Command’s area of operations. The SPMAGTF are conducting a variety of pre-deployment training events and qualifications in order to enhance crisis response readiness for the Latin American and Caribbean region.
