ABOUT

Mountain Warfare Training Exercise (MTX) 2022 sees 1st Battalion, 24th Marines (Reinforced) conducting Mountain Exercise 4-22 aboard Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center Bridgeport, Calif., in order to sustain individual warfighting proficiency and improve, sustain, and evaluate company-level offensive and defensive tasks as well as battalion-level planning and command and control.

6th Communication Battalion 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

Cavin Edwards with 6th Communication Battalion, Force Headquarters Group, Marine Forces Reserve, addresses guests during a 9/11 remembrance ceremony at the Curtin Garvey Complex, Brooklyn, New York, Aug. 14, 2021. This ceremony was held in honor of the legacy and memory of Sgt. Maj. Michael S. Curtin and Gunnery Sgt. Mathew D. Garvey, Reserve Marines with 6th Communication Battalion, who made the ultimate sacrifice as first responders on September 11, 2001. Curtin, a police officer with the New York City Police Department, and Garvey, a firefighter with the New York City Fire Department, epitomized what it means to be a Reserve Marine, answering the nation's call to serve in uniform while also serving their local communities.
