ABOUT 

Mountain Warfare Training Exercise (MTX) 2022 sees 1st Battalion, 24th Marines (Reinforced) conducting Mountain Exercise 4-22 aboard Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center Bridgeport, Calif., in order to sustain individual warfighting  proficiency and improve, sustain, and evaluate company-level offensive and defensive tasks as well as battalion-level planning and command and control.

Lance Cpl. Thomas Wendt, a heavy equipment engineer with 6th Engineer Support Battalion, Battle Creek, Mich., uses a bulldozer to spread a pile of gravel to form a base for the road. Marines with 6th ESB are building a road for the village of Newtok, Alaska. The Alaskan natives in Newtok are watching their village slowly sink into the Bering Sea.
