ABOUT 

Mountain Warfare Training Exercise (MTX) 2022 sees 1st Battalion, 24th Marines (Reinforced) conducting Mountain Exercise 4-22 aboard Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center Bridgeport, Calif., in order to sustain individual warfighting  proficiency and improve, sustain, and evaluate company-level offensive and defensive tasks as well as battalion-level planning and command and control.

The crew of a UH-1N Huey utility helicopter from Detachment A, Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 773, Marine Aircraft Group 49, 4th Marine Aircraft Wing, surveys for enemy activity while providing simulated close air support for Marine Special Operations Command at Fort Irwin, Calif., Oct. 17, 2012. HMLA-773 supported Marine Special Operations Command for three weeks, flying simulated close air supports, resupplies, casualty evacuations, battle damage assessments and aerial reconnaissance to make MARSOC’s pre-deployment training more realistic.
