ITX provides the premier live-fire combined arms training venue to assess readiness of designated units in support of Strategic Reserve Mobilization Requirements."

As the Marine Corps Reserve’s premier annual training event, ITX provides opportunities to mobilize geographically dispersed forces for a deployment; increase combat readiness and lethality; and exercise MAGTF command and control of battalions and squadrons across the full spectrum of warfare. Unit Hike

Marines with Headquarters Battery, 14th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, receive a briefing after a three-mile morning hike at Naval Air Station Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base, Texas, Jan 13, 2013. Marines from the regiment’s headquarters and the motor transport and communications sections hiked just over three miles with loaded packs as part of an exercise that promotes unit cohesion and morale. The hike was the first of several that the unit plans to organize this year. 14th Marines will support a variety of exercises and operations in 2013, including Ulchi Freedom Guardian. UFG is a defense-oriented, routine exercise that enhances the ability of the Republic of Korea-U.S. alliance to deter against external aggression and maintain stability on the Korean peninsula.
