ABOUT 

Exercise Intrepid Maven is a U.S. Marine Corps Forces Central Command conceptualized and implemented exercise series designed in late 2021, with the first iteration having occurred in Jordan in March 2022. The series, to include IM 23.2, is designed to strengthen partnerships, produce training opportunities, contribute to interoperability and improve conditions for regional security.

Reserve Marine Capt. Justin Martell (front, left), the battalion judge advocate for 2nd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, makes his way to the courthouse here on a joint foot patrol Feb. 5, 2009. During his seven-month tour in Iraq, Martell met weekly with an Iraqi judge to help successfully coordinate efforts of Coalition and Iraqi Security Forces in apprehending and prosecuting those suspected of insurgent activity. In his civilian career Martell, a native of Rutland, Vt., is an attorney with the U.S. Office of Special Counsel in Washington, D.C. He routinely investigates and prosecutes violations of anti-corruption laws.
