ABOUT 

"Marines from 2nd Battalion 23d Marine Regiment will conduct mountain training exercises aboard Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport allowing Marines to sustain warfighting functions while participating in realistic combat training in a mountainous environment. The purpose of MTX is to facilitate increased readiness and to challenge units’ ability to plan and perform."

Machut returns to Arctic Circle, visits service members supporting Arctic Care
Brig. Gen. Roger R. Machut, the commanding general of 4th Marine Logistics Group, helps unload medical supplies from a National Guard UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter here, April 15. The medical supplies were flown to Deering, Alaska, one of 12 rural Alaskan villages assisted during the Innovative Readiness Training Arctic Care 2013. IRT Arctic Care is a multi-service humanitarian and training program focusing on enhancing the interoperability and capacity of U.S. forces in peacetime support operations, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief. The exercise is primarily a Reserve effort with Marine Forces Reserve taking the lead and receiving logistical and medical support from the National Guard, Army Reserve, Navy Reserve and Air Force Reserve.
