"Marines from 2nd Battalion 23d Marine Regiment will conduct mountain training exercises aboard Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport allowing Marines to sustain warfighting functions while participating in realistic combat training in a mountainous environment. The purpose of MTX is to facilitate increased readiness and to challenge units’ ability to plan and perform."

6th Engineer Support Battalion celebrates 70th anniversary with battle color rededication
Retired Col. James “Rip” Harper christens a D7G bulldozer used in Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom, outside the Naval Support Activity Portland after 6th Engineer Support Battalion’s battle color rededication ceremony in Portland, Ore., Nov. 15, 2014.The battalion celebrated the 70th anniversary of its formation with a rededication ceremony and paid homage to Harper, the battalion’s first adjutant.
