ABOUT 

"Marines from 2nd Battalion 23d Marine Regiment will conduct mountain training exercises aboard Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport allowing Marines to sustain warfighting functions while participating in realistic combat training in a mountainous environment. The purpose of MTX is to facilitate increased readiness and to challenge units’ ability to plan and perform."

Celebrating Unity, Battle of New Orleans Bicentennial Chalmette Battlefield
Volunteers reenacting as American soldiers and militiamen look out onto the Chalmette Battlefield where part of the War of 1812 took place at the Jean Lafitte National Historic Park and Preserve Jan. 8, 2015. The park hosted a series of living history events at the Chalmette Battlefield in Chalmette, La., Jan. 8-10 that commemorated the bicentennial of the 1815 Battle of New Orleans.
