ABOUT 

"Marines from 2nd Battalion 23d Marine Regiment will conduct mountain training exercises aboard Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport allowing Marines to sustain warfighting functions while participating in realistic combat training in a mountainous environment. The purpose of MTX is to facilitate increased readiness and to challenge units’ ability to plan and perform."

Marines refurbish housing facility
A Marine uses a buzz saw to cut out extra parts of the wooden flooring in an old military housing facility, Jan. 9, 2015 during exercise Lava Viper 15-1.2 at Kawaihae Harbor, Hawaii. The housing facility is used by various military branches as a safe house while waiting for ships to arrive with vehicles and supplies. Combat engineers with Marine Wing Support Squadron-472, Marine Aircraft Group 49, 4th Marine Air Wing has been tasked to refurbish the facility because the building is deteriorating.
