ABOUT 

"Marines from 2nd Battalion 23d Marine Regiment will conduct mountain training exercises aboard Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport allowing Marines to sustain warfighting functions while participating in realistic combat training in a mountainous environment. The purpose of MTX is to facilitate increased readiness and to challenge units’ ability to plan and perform."

Navy Medical Focuses on Readiness
Capt. John A. McGurty Jr., Marine Forces Reserve force surgeon, received a Legion of Merit award during the annual MARFORRES Surgeon’s Conference at Marine Corps Support Facility New Orleans, Feb. 6, 2015. He was presented the award by Vice Admiral Robin R. Braun, Chief of Navy Reserve, for providing medical support to Marines at U.S. Marine Forces Central command from March 2011 to July 2014 as the force surgeon.
