ABOUT 

"Marines from 2nd Battalion 23d Marine Regiment will conduct mountain training exercises aboard Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport allowing Marines to sustain warfighting functions while participating in realistic combat training in a mountainous environment. The purpose of MTX is to facilitate increased readiness and to challenge units’ ability to plan and perform."

World War II veteran Francis Rumi, Sr. and actor Gary Sinise (center) share a moment with Marines from Marine Forces Reserve during the welcome ceremony at the Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans, June 24, 2015. Sinise, along with volunteers from the Gary Sinise Foundation, travelled to New Orleans with nearly 50 veterans of World War II to escort them to the National World War II Museum as part of the foundation's program to honor those who have fought to protect America's freedoms.
