ABOUT 

"Marines from 2nd Battalion 23d Marine Regiment will conduct mountain training exercises aboard Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport allowing Marines to sustain warfighting functions while participating in realistic combat training in a mountainous environment. The purpose of MTX is to facilitate increased readiness and to challenge units’ ability to plan and perform."

MARFORRES Marines Celebrate 240th Birthday

Marines from Marine Forces Reserve return from a 3-mile motivational formation run led by Sgt. Maj. Michael J. Rowan (center) and Col. Steven G. Godinho at Marine Corps Support Facility, New Orleans, Nov. 10, 2015. Each year, the Marines celebrate the Corps’ birthday with a cake-cutting ceremony followed by a run. Since Nov. 10, 1775, the United States Marine Corps has garnered the reputation as the world's most efficient amphibious fighting force, engaging in combat on battlefronts across the globe since its inception.
