"Marines from 2nd Battalion 23d Marine Regiment will conduct mountain training exercises aboard Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport allowing Marines to sustain warfighting functions while participating in realistic combat training in a mountainous environment. The purpose of MTX is to facilitate increased readiness and to challenge units’ ability to plan and perform."

Marine Forces Reserve Marine honored for outstanding community service

Baumer (second from right), adjutant for Marine Aircraft Group 41, 4th Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Forces Reserve, is presented the Mayor’s Military Advisory Committee Community Service award by retired Marine Maj. Gen. David M. Mize (right), chairman of the Mayor’s Military Advisory Committee, during the Armed Forces Day celebration at the National World War II Museum, May 21, 2016. Baumer was recognized for his outstanding efforts in improving the local community and for setting an excellent example to his fellow Marines. Marine Forces Reserve operates from 160 locations across the U.S. allowing the Marines the unique opportunity to connect with the communities in which they live.
