ABOUT 

"Marines from 2nd Battalion 23d Marine Regiment will conduct mountain training exercises aboard Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport allowing Marines to sustain warfighting functions while participating in realistic combat training in a mountainous environment. The purpose of MTX is to facilitate increased readiness and to challenge units’ ability to plan and perform."

McDaniel, with Mike Battery, 3rd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, plays an integral role in the setup of the M777 Howitzer for a direct fire shoot exercise in Twentynine Palms, California, as apart of Integrated Training Exercise 4-18, June 13, 2018. ITX 4-18 is a live-fire and maneuver combined arms exercise designed to train battalion and squadron-sized units in tactics, techniques, and procedures required to provide a sustainable and ready operational reserve for employment across the full spectrum of crisis and global employment.
