ABOUT 

"Marines from 2nd Battalion 23d Marine Regiment will conduct mountain training exercises aboard Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport allowing Marines to sustain warfighting functions while participating in realistic combat training in a mountainous environment. The purpose of MTX is to facilitate increased readiness and to challenge units’ ability to plan and perform."

The police badge worn by Nicholas Smarr the day he was killed in the line of duty while serving as a police officer for the Americus Police Department, is displayed at the department in Americus, Ga., Dec. 7, 2018. Smarr and fellow officer Jody Smith were killed in action when responding to a call in Americus on Dec. 7, 2016; Smarr was also a Lance Cpl. in the Marine Corps Reserve.
