ABOUT 

"Marines from 2nd Battalion 23d Marine Regiment will conduct mountain training exercises aboard Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport allowing Marines to sustain warfighting functions while participating in realistic combat training in a mountainous environment. The purpose of MTX is to facilitate increased readiness and to challenge units’ ability to plan and perform."

Sgt. Alfredo Cantu Gonzalez’s Medal of Honor certificate is displayed in the main office of the Freddy Gonzalez Elementary school in Edinburg, Texas, Jan. 14, 2019. In October 1969, Gonzalez’s mother, Dolia Gonzalez, was presented the Medal of Honor, awarded to her son for his heroic actions in the Battle of Hue City during the Vietnam War.
