ABOUT 

"Marines from 2nd Battalion 23d Marine Regiment will conduct mountain training exercises aboard Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport allowing Marines to sustain warfighting functions while participating in realistic combat training in a mountainous environment. The purpose of MTX is to facilitate increased readiness and to challenge units’ ability to plan and perform."

Ashley Barreno, a combat videographer with Communication Strategy and Operations, Headquarters Battalion, strikes a training pad with a baton during the Security Augmentation Force course at Marine Corps Support Facility New Orleans, Sept. 13, 2019. SAF training is designed to provide the facility with qualified and properly trained personnel ready to support the military provost marshal’s office. SAF Marines are required to participate in defensive tactics training, a gate procedures class, vehicle search training and qualify for level one contamination with oleoresin capsicum spray.
