ABOUT 

"Marines from 2nd Battalion 23d Marine Regiment will conduct mountain training exercises aboard Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport allowing Marines to sustain warfighting functions while participating in realistic combat training in a mountainous environment. The purpose of MTX is to facilitate increased readiness and to challenge units’ ability to plan and perform."

The CERTEX is the culmination exercise that will test the training and readiness of the Marines and Sailors of the SPMAGTF-SC for certification to deploy. Once certified, the SPMAGTF-SC will be ready to conduct crisis response, theater security cooperation training and general engineering projects alongside partner nation militaries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
