Enlisted Marines Experience What it Takes to Become a Marine Officer
A Marine maneuvers through an Obstacle Course at Officer Candidates School (OCS) as part of a demonstration for Marines with Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES) participating in a Summer Officer Tour on Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va., Aug. 19, 2021. The OCS Physical Training Program challenges officer candidates throughout OCS and ensures newly commissioned lieutenants are physically fit and prepared to lead Marines in any clime or place. Marines participated in the Commander of MARFORRES and Marine Forces South’s inaugural Summer Officer Tour to gain insight into the journey of becoming a Marine Corps Officer. The tour included visits to The Basic School, Marine Corps University, The National Museum of The Marine Corps and Marine Barracks Washington. MARFORRES is seeking to identify high performing Active Component, Active Reserve and Selected Marine Corps Reserve Marines, who offer unique perspectives, to pursue a commission as an officer in an effort to better prepare the Marine Corps Total Force to meet future threats.
