ABOUT 

"Marines from 2nd Battalion 23d Marine Regiment will conduct mountain training exercises aboard Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport allowing Marines to sustain warfighting functions while participating in realistic combat training in a mountainous environment. The purpose of MTX is to facilitate increased readiness and to challenge units’ ability to plan and perform."

Lonestar Academy Opens
211229-N-YS140-006 Fort Pickett, Va. (Dec. 29, 2021) Lance Cpl. Adrian Moreno, rifleman, Alpha Company, 23rd Marine Regiment from Weslaco, Texas instructs at Lonestar Academy, an educational facility that expands upon the curriculum already offered to Afghan evacuees. The Department of Defense, through U.S. Northern Command, and in support of the Department of Homeland Security, is providing transportation, temporary housing, medical screening, and general support for at least 50,000 Afghan evacuees at suitable facilities, in permanent or temporary structures, as quickly as possible.
