ABOUT 

"Marines from 2nd Battalion 23d Marine Regiment will conduct mountain training exercises aboard Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport allowing Marines to sustain warfighting functions while participating in realistic combat training in a mountainous environment. The purpose of MTX is to facilitate increased readiness and to challenge units’ ability to plan and perform."

U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Chaison Leavitt, machine gunner with Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 23d Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, carries his daughter as his family comes to visit him before activating for the unit deployment program at Camp Williams, Utah, Nov. 3, 2024. The activation marks the beginning of an intensive period of training for 2nd Battalion, 23d Marines as they provide a total force solution in support of the UDP by aligning Marine Forces Reserve’s commitment to Marine Corps strategic objectives.
