ABOUT 

"Marines from 2nd Battalion 23d Marine Regiment will conduct mountain training exercises aboard Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport allowing Marines to sustain warfighting functions while participating in realistic combat training in a mountainous environment. The purpose of MTX is to facilitate increased readiness and to challenge units’ ability to plan and perform."

Fitzsimmons deployed to Iraq’s western Al Anbar Province with his company from the fall of 2008, conducting counterinsurgency operations in and around the rural town of Akashat. In his civilian career, Fitzsimmons is a commercial real estate property manager for an international company based in New York City.
