ABOUT 

"Marines from 2nd Battalion 23d Marine Regiment will conduct mountain training exercises aboard Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport allowing Marines to sustain warfighting functions while participating in realistic combat training in a mountainous environment. The purpose of MTX is to facilitate increased readiness and to challenge units’ ability to plan and perform."

A 3rd Reconnaissance Company Marine fast-ropes out of a CH-46 as part of a tactical insertion exercise at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Ariz., July 20, 2011. The exercise was part of Operation Javelin Thrust 2011, which is the largest reserve training exercise in the Marine Corps.
