ABOUT 

"Marines from 2nd Battalion 23d Marine Regiment will conduct mountain training exercises aboard Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport allowing Marines to sustain warfighting functions while participating in realistic combat training in a mountainous environment. The purpose of MTX is to facilitate increased readiness and to challenge units’ ability to plan and perform."

Reserve Marines begin their preparation time while on the rifle range as a part of their Combat Marksmanship Coaches Course training at the Weapon’s Training Battalion on Oct. 8. At the completion of the course the Marines will have the title of “range coach.”
