ABOUT

Arctic Edge 25 is a Joint Chiefs of Staff designated joint and combined field training exercise oriented on homeland defense in the Alaska/Arctic region. This exercise provides an opportunity to highlight cross command coordination in the Alaskan theater of operations for homeland defense.

U.S. Marines with 2nd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, participate in ARCTIC EDGE 2025 (AE25) Alaska, Aug. 8-24th, 2025. Specialized Arctic training generates valuable lessons learned for warfighters and enablers ensuring they can execute their assigned missions in any environment. AE25 is a NORAD and U.S. Northern Command-led homeland defense exercise designed to improve readiness, demonstrate capabilities and enhance Joint and Allied Force interoperability in the Arctic. 4th Marine Division Conducts Sniper Rifle Training
Staff Sgt. Ryan Dowling, a sniper with D Company, 4th Reconnaissance Battalion, 4th Marine Division, fires an M40A5 Sniper Rifle from high angles at unknown distance targets at greater than 1,000 yards during a simulated overseas firing scenario Sept. 24, 2014 at the High Angle Range, 9-Mile Training Center in Pecos County, Texas. Marine snipers from the 4th Mar. Div. conducted firing exercises that included known and unknown distance 7.62 mm training, night fire, unsupported positions firing, and a team stress shoot.
