ABOUT

Arctic Edge 25 is a Joint Chiefs of Staff designated joint and combined field training exercise oriented on homeland defense in the Alaska/Arctic region. This exercise provides an opportunity to highlight cross command coordination in the Alaskan theater of operations for homeland defense.

U.S. Marines with 2nd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, participate in ARCTIC EDGE 2025 (AE25) Alaska, Aug. 8-24th, 2025. Specialized Arctic training generates valuable lessons learned for warfighters and enablers ensuring they can execute their assigned missions in any environment. AE25 is a NORAD and U.S. Northern Command-led homeland defense exercise designed to improve readiness, demonstrate capabilities and enhance Joint and Allied Force interoperability in the Arctic. “Rescue Me”: Local artist’s gesture of gratitude dedicated to the U.S. Coast Guard during 10-year Hurricane Katrina anniversary
Lt. Gen. Richard P. Mills, commander of Marine Forces Reserve, admires the painting titled “Rescue Me” at the dedication ceremony for the painting by Louisiana artist Dale Fairbanks at the Hale Boggs Federal Building in New Orleans, La., Aug. 25, 2015. “Rescue Me” is based off of televised imagery of an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter rescuing stranded citizens in New Orleans’ Ninth Ward in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The dedication ceremony was one of dozens of events this week commemorates the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina on Aug. 29, 2015.
