ABOUT

Arctic Edge 25 is a Joint Chiefs of Staff designated joint and combined field training exercise oriented on homeland defense in the Alaska/Arctic region. This exercise provides an opportunity to highlight cross command coordination in the Alaskan theater of operations for homeland defense.

U.S. Marines with 2nd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, participate in ARCTIC EDGE 2025 (AE25) Alaska, Aug. 8-24th, 2025. Specialized Arctic training generates valuable lessons learned for warfighters and enablers ensuring they can execute their assigned missions in any environment. AE25 is a NORAD and U.S. Northern Command-led homeland defense exercise designed to improve readiness, demonstrate capabilities and enhance Joint and Allied Force interoperability in the Arctic. Hometown Heroes
Lance Cpl. Logan Doyle, a rifleman with Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 24th Marines, 4th Marine Division, a graduate of Columbus East High School and a Crawfordsville, Indiana native, participated in exercise Nordic Frost in Jericho, Vermont, Jan. 13-27, 2018. Doyle is a Reserve Marine as well as a student at Purdue University and works at Maxwell Farm Drainage Inc. and in seismic wave surveying. Reserve Marines with 24th Marines conducted cold weather training among the mountainous Vermont terrain at Camp Ethan Allen Training Site. The goal of Nordic Frost was to improve the unit’s environmental capabilities by giving them an introduction to cold weather training and testing their squad and fire team level defensive proficiency in an austere environment. This was a great opportunity for Marines to spend two weeks working together, battling the elements to ensure that they are ready to fight tonight and respond to the nation’s calls.
