ABOUT

Arctic Edge 25 is a Joint Chiefs of Staff designated joint and combined field training exercise oriented on homeland defense in the Alaska/Arctic region. This exercise provides an opportunity to highlight cross command coordination in the Alaskan theater of operations for homeland defense.

U.S. Marines with 2nd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, participate in ARCTIC EDGE 2025 (AE25) Alaska, Aug. 8-24th, 2025. Specialized Arctic training generates valuable lessons learned for warfighters and enablers ensuring they can execute their assigned missions in any environment. AE25 is a NORAD and U.S. Northern Command-led homeland defense exercise designed to improve readiness, demonstrate capabilities and enhance Joint and Allied Force interoperability in the Arctic. William Kevin Walker, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Pistol Shooting Team, shoots his pistol at eight-inch steel targets during a three gun competition in Park City, Ky., April 29, 2011. The Gulfport, Miss., native primarily trains Marine Forces Reserve combat marksmanship trainers at a two week course at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va., every October. He and other members of the pistol team participate in various shooting events in order to learn about different aspects of shooting and take the knowledge back to students.
