Joint Training Mission 'Real Deal'

Lance Corporal Nickolas Beem looks out the open-window of the UH-60 Black Hawk during Joint Training Mission ‘Real Deal’ with U.S. Marine Corps Reserves Alpha Co. 4th Law Enforcement Battalion, and Kentucky Air National Guard 123rd Airlift Wing. The objective of the mission was to plan, train, and execute an air assault with a realistic ground force. Aviators from the KYARNG transported Marines on five UH-60 Blackhawks from the Boone National Guard Center in Frankfort, Kentucky, to Camp Atterbury - Muscatatuck in Edinburgh, Indiana. Following the completion of their ground assault, the Marines were transported back to Boone Center by the aviators. The mission highlighted the coordination and operational capabilities of the units involved. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Spc. Georgia Napier)
