The boardwalk now allows access to the newly dedicated John H. Rich Jr. and Doris Lee Rich Memorial Beach and Ice Fishing Access Facility. The Marines were able to utilize their skills to complete both vertical and horizontal construction projects to include a new road way, a parking lot able to hold 100 cars, four vertical structures and a boardwalk to lead to the beach.
