Marines participated in the Commander of Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES) and Marine Forces South’s inaugural Summer Officer Tour to gain insight into the journey of becoming a Marine Corps Officer. The tour included visits to Officer Candidates School, The Basic School, Marine Corps University, The National Museum of The Marine Corps and Marine Barracks Washington. Cpl. Cecil Otieno, a supply clerk with 4th Dental Battalion, 4th Marine Logistics Group, attends his Platoon Leaders Class phase one graduation practice in July 2013. Otieno was the third squad leader. In July this year, he will attend the second phase of PLC and plans on being commissioned in May 2015, after he earns his degree.

Tyrone Hendrickson lead Sgts. Jerry West, Josue Castillo, and Colbert Jackson on the team from Marine Corps Recruiting Station, Baton Rouge.
