Marines with 2nd and 4th Combat Engineer Battalions and 8th Engineer Support Bn. practice stacking and holding the blast blanket prior to the urban demolition range here, July 24. The blast blanket protects the Marines from detonation, some as close as eight feet. Correct stack order and positioning is important because the pressure from the explosion can injure the Marines, especially at the end of the stack
