Military members of the New Orleans area attended the brief to learn how to prepare for hurricanes, what to do in the event of an evacuation, and resources available to them. The Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness is the coordinating public safety agency for the city of New Orleans and is responsible for crisis planning, response and recovery for the City of New Orleans.
