Marines with Marine Forces Reserve headquarters battalion stand by the ceremonial cake during the 240th Marine Corps birthday cake-cutting ceremony at Marine Corps Support Facility New Orleans, Nov. 10, 2015. The cake-cutting ceremony is a tradition through the Marine Corps, in which the first piece of cake is passed from the oldest Marine to the youngest Marine present, symbolizing the passing of traditions and knowledge from one generation of Marines onto the next.
