Actor Gary Sinise waits with Marines from Marine Corps Support Facility New Orleans at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport for the arrival of World War II veterans on a Soaring Valor Honor Flight, Oct. 27, 2016. In 2015, the Gary Sinise Foundation launched the Soaring Valor Honor Flight program with the National WWII Museum, with the goal of preserving each veteran’s first-person account of the war.
