Age 22, Saint Anthony, Idaho LCpl Birch died while conducting combat operations with the 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward), in Haqlaniyah, Iraq. He was assigned to Marine Forces Reserve’s 4th Tank Battalion, 4th Marine Division, Boise, Idaho. He died on June 9, 2005.
