U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. Scott D. Grade, sergeant major of Marine Forces Reserve and Marine Forces North, reads the warrant for the promotion of Brig. Gen. Micheal S. Martin to the rank of major general on March 24, 2020 at Marine Corps Support Facility New Orleans. Maj. Gen. Martin, the current commanding general of 4th Marine Division, was in his home in Southwick, Massachusetts, and was promoted over the phone due to the COVID-19 travel restrictions and safety measures.
