U.S. Marines with Golf Battery, 3rd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, reload an M777 Howitzer during a Fire Support Coordination Exercise as part of Adversary Force Exercise 1-25 at Training Area Quackenbush, Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, California, Jan. 22, 2025. FSCEX is a live-fire training event integrating infantry battalion combat operations center functions, distributed artillery, mobile fire support teams, close air support assets, and electronic warfare support teams. The purpose of AFX is to create a credible, realistic threat for the exercise forces participating in Service Level Training Exercise 1-25 to engage against during the upcoming Marine Air-Ground Task Force Warfighting Exercise in a force-on-force, unscripted wargame.
