U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Samuel Tomlinson, a mortarman, uses hand and arm signals to align a M252A2 60 mm mortar system as he prepares for a live-fire exercise at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey, Dec. 5, 2025. Tomlinson, a Marine with 2nd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, conducts live-fire drills to enhance tactical decision-making, leadership, and technical proficiency during the training event.
