U.S. Marine Col. Jay Huston, the commanding officer of 24th Marine Regiment, drinks fresh water from a jungle vine June 25, 2009 while visiting Marines on deployment with Landing Force Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training in Malaysia. CARAT is an annual series of bi-lateral maritime training exercises between the United States and Southeast Asian nations. Several reserve officers had the opportunity to lead more than two hundred reservists from the 24th Marine Regiment during the entire four-month exercise on temporary mobilization orders.
