About

Exercise Northern Strike is a military readiness event hosted annually at Michigan National Guard facilities. With approximately 5,000 participating Marines, Soldiers, Airmen and Sailors, Northern Strike is one of the largest reserve component exercises supported by the U.S. military. The mission is to exercise participating units’ full-spectrum of capabilities through realistic, cost-effective joint fires training in an adaptable environment, with an emphasis on joint and coalition force cooperation.

Toys for Tots
Gunnery Sgt. Jimmy Cosby Jr., the pay deck staff non-commissioned officer for the Marine Forces Reserve disbursing office, and Cpl. Cristel Zimmermanoset, zeros clerk at the finance office, MarForRes, decide on which toy to purchase for the Toys for Tots campaign. The Toys for Tots campaigns around the country have been helping give toys to less fortunate children since 1947. Marine Forces Reserve along with local community organizations are working hand-in-hand to top last years number of more than nine million toys, and continue their positive impact on the development of today's youth.
