About

Exercise Northern Strike is a military readiness event hosted annually at Michigan National Guard facilities. With approximately 5,000 participating Marines, Soldiers, Airmen and Sailors, Northern Strike is one of the largest reserve component exercises supported by the U.S. military. The mission is to exercise participating units’ full-spectrum of capabilities through realistic, cost-effective joint fires training in an adaptable environment, with an emphasis on joint and coalition force cooperation.

4th Marine Logistics Group hosts sergeant major relief and appointment ceremony

Patrick Fay, the incoming sergeant major of 4th Marine Logistics Group, poses for a photo with his family during a relief and appointment ceremony on Marine Corps Support Facility, New Orleans, Dec. 19, 2023. This ceremony serves as the official changeover between sergeants major, honoring the outgoing sergeant major's contributions during his tenure, while offering the opportunity for the oncoming sergeant major to introduce himself to the Marines now under his charge. Sgt. Maj. Christopher Thomas, the outgoing sergeant major of 4th Marine Logistics Group was relieved from his appointment by Fay.
