About

Exercise Northern Strike is a military readiness event hosted annually at Michigan National Guard facilities. With approximately 5,000 participating Marines, Soldiers, Airmen and Sailors, Northern Strike is one of the largest reserve component exercises supported by the U.S. military. The mission is to exercise participating units’ full-spectrum of capabilities through realistic, cost-effective joint fires training in an adaptable environment, with an emphasis on joint and coalition force cooperation.

Ahmed of the National Information Investigation Agency here Dec. 31, 2008. Murphy joined the Marine Corps as an infantryman in 1986 and later earned a commission. He affiliated with the Marine Corps Reserve in 2003. Maj. Craig Abele (right), served with Murphy as the battalion’s intelligence officer. Abele, who has spent the past seven of his 16 years in the Corps as a reservist, is currently attending Marine Corps Command and Staff College full-time in Quantico, Va. He is scheduled to graduate in June with a master’s degree in military science.
